KCC mixed choir “Kamertonas” was founded in 1995, when conductor R. Misiukevičius and singer V. J. Normantas brought together choirs of various specialties. In 1996, A. Viesulas became the artistic director and conductor of “Kamertonas”. Under his leadership, at the end of the same year, the choir participated in the prestigious F. Schubert Competition in Austria, and annually organized a number of concerts in various Lithuanian cities and abroad: Germany, Austria, Poland and others. The choir has won numerous national and international awards, releasing 1 audio cassette and 5 CDs.
Since 1998, the mixed choir has been a regular participant of Kaunas and World Song Festivals. In 1999, the ensemble went on a concert tour around the United States, where they performed in various cities for local Lithuanian communities, and even held 12 performances here. Two years later, “Kamertonas” was the first Lithuanian choir to perform in Australia, and in October 2003, it even visited the Republic of South Africa. In December 2003, Kęstutis Jakeliūnas became the artistic director and conductor of Kaunas mixed choir “Kamertonas”.
