The history of the textile studio “Gijų sodai” started in 2016, when the textile artist Zinaida Irutė Dargienė donated vertical weaving machines to KCC. Then the idea was born to invite people to touch professional weaving, learn about different textile art techniques and communicate during creation. Here you will get acquainted with applied and artistic textiles and their techniques, try traditional and non-traditional materials, experiment, create, realize your ideas, meet artists, learn ecological thinking.
The visitors of the weekly classes of the studio “Gijų sodai” are not only children, but also adults who want to relax from everyday work and learn something new. Group size: 4-8 participants. In order to create a cozy atmosphere, closed groups of participants are selected, i.e. sessions – non-one- off sessions, but repetitive sessions. In textile classes, participants develop their creativity, abilities, attention and concentration. Creating breeds emotional relaxation and aesthetic satisfaction. Using a variety of textile tools and techniques, develops fantasy, and fine motor skills, as well as eye-arm coordination.
